Growing up, my grandmother always had a camera in my face. My cousins, siblings, and I would often tease her when we would see her with her large and in charge camera, but we always flipped through the pages excitedly when she had a newly assembled photo album with our memories preserved inside. Having tangible photographs in my hands and reminiscing with my cousins and siblings has kept our childhoods alive and strengthened our familial bonds. But even more importantly, having the albums and seeing grandma put them together made us all feel so incredibly loved.
It’s finally here! September 23rd made it official, friends. Fall is here to stay. Well, at least until December 21st when winter solstice comes. With fall here, my sworn duty as memory keeper is documenting all of the best things about the coziest of seasons. Simplifying always works for me and having a small list with thoughtful locations and traditions helps to ensure I don’t get stressed out about taking pictures and can enjoy the moments with my family. This is a simplified list of seven photos to take of your kids this fall so you can preserve your favorite autumn memories without being overwhelmed.

Last week, I shared a fun DIY Personalized Tic Tac Toe Game and it gave me a burst of creative inspiration to create more personalized games for our family. My kiddos loved seeing their faces on game pieces, so I thought that I should do the same on another one of our family favorites, Checkers. For this Personalized Checkers Game, I created pieces for each member of the family so that we each had our own game pieces to play with.
Tic tac toe is one of our family’s favorite games. It’s a simple game that all of us can play with ease and is fun for even my older kiddos. With warm summer months in full swing here in Northern Michigan, our front porch has been getting a lot of extra love while we play board games and sip on lemonade. Inspired by the warmer weather and our favorite game, I created a board game version of our beloved tic tac toe with a family twist courtesy of these fun photo sticker sheets.
A family command center is a great way to help your family stay organized and keep everyone on the same page. In my home, our command center is the brain of our family. Need to know where someone is? Check the command center. What groceries do we need? Check the command center. What’s for dinner tonight? Check. The. Command. Center. I update our family command center, which is located at our fridge, every week. Having the essentials on hand helps me to get everyone organized and know what’s going on with everyone at a quick glance. These essentials from Pinhole Press are must-haves for every family command center.
