My husband and I just recently moved into a brand new-to-us 1960s home in Virginia, and have spent the past month trying to make it feel like ours. Don’t you just love heading to the mailbox in December? Every day there’s a new stack of holiday photo cards showing off a family portrait of friends and relatives, and they all look so poised and happy. When I started taking monthly photos of Levi as a baby, my goal was to print them in a baby book. I spent one exhausting weekend sorting through a year’s worth of digital images to create an album that includes his monthly photos, my monthly letters to him, and 12 months of candid shots.
Halloween signals the beginning of the baking season at our house. It seems like we need to bring a snack just about everywhere we go. School, football, you name it we like to bring sweet treats with us.

Since Scott and I started our kitchen renovation early this year, we’ve been on the hunt for vintage glass decanters that we could keep on display. Our eyes are on high alert as we go to flea markets and yard sales, and we’ve even found a few through online auctions. We’re this close to calling the renovation complete, and in the meantime, we’ve been honing in on the smaller details.
