Alright Mom, it’s your moment. Your little ones are all tucked in, the dishes are done (or not), and you plop yourself on the couch taking a deep breath. Every mom needs a little “me time” and this is just that.
For this special mom moment, we’ve got the perfect cocktail to whip up from things you have around the house and a few must-have reads to curl up with.
First, let’s make your cocktail. You don’t need your Skinnygirl mix for this recipe. All you need is lime, tequila, agave, and some juice from the fridge to throw in for an added pop!
2 oz. tequila
2 oz. water
1/2 lime squeezed (may want a whole lime depending on how strong you like it)
1 oz. agave nectar (you can substitute this with a simple syrup or honey)
1 splash of OJ or Strawberry Juice if you want to make it a flavor!
Salt to garnish
Simply add all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice.
For easy measuring, you can use a shot glass (which equals 1.5 oz.).
Put ice in your glass and serve cold.
Now that you have your cocktail made, it’s time to unwind with a good book. First up is a New York Times Best Seller, and was recently signed to make a movie. (Although we liked it before the hype!)
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste NG is a fiction novel that explores identity, motherhood and the dangers of following all the rules. Since being a part of Reese Witherspoon’s book club, it has blown up in popularity and for good reason. You can order the audiobook and start listening while your margarita is still chilled. (You can take a peek inside here!)
If fiction isn’t your go-to, we’ve also got this nonfiction, empowering book to help you live your best life. This is another New York Times Best Seller.
The Universe Has Your Back by Gabrielle Bernstein is a powerful motivator that helps turn all of your fears into love, and with that love, change the way you live. It is an interactive book that offers self-guided meditation and tools to help create the world you want to live in. She is a #SpiritJunkie and we are loving it. (Not sure? Feed your curiosity here.)
Ok Mom, we’ve got your cocktail and your book, now all you’ve got to do is sit back, relax and enjoy. Taking a little time to yourself is a great way to refresh your energy and continue to rock on being the awesome mom you are. Cheers!
