Tic tac toe is one of our family’s favorite games. It’s a simple game that all of us can play with ease and is fun for even my older kiddos. With warm summer months in full swing here in Northern Michigan, our front porch has been getting a lot of extra love while we play board games and sip on lemonade. Inspired by the warmer weather and our favorite game, I created a board game version of our beloved tic tac toe with a family twist courtesy of these fun photo sticker sheets.
SUPPLIES
- unfinished wood blocks game
- Pinhole Press photo sticker sheets
- ModPodge
- a paintbrush
I started by trimming down my photo stickers to size so that they’d fit on the blocks without having to be folded over the edges.
Next, I placed the stickers on the faces of each block. I did five with my daughter’s face and four with my stepson’s face.
I painted on a light coating of ModPodge (don’t worry, this dries clear) over each sticker to give it some extra protection and durability.
Once it was dry, the game was ready. It was really simple to make and took me less than five minutes to put together. The longest part of this project was waiting for supplies to arrive and ModPodge to dry.
My kiddos wasted no time playing on the front porch with their new game.
This DIY Tic Tac Toe Game put a personalized touch on the classic game and made it even more fun for us to play. In fact, we loved it so much that I’ve ordered a few more blank game sets to have on hand for friend birthdays and family gift ideas.
