Paying it Forward, Without the Payout

Dec Meltdown, Ways to Give this Season

The holiday season is an opportune time to give back and lend a hand to those in need. It’s true what they say; it really is the thought that counts. Often, the most touching sentiments are those firmly rooted in empathy, thoughtfulness, and kindness. Here are some meaningful and simple ways to channel your charitable spirit without busting your holiday budget.

1.)   The Give Back Box:

Take an old cardboard box and fill it with gently used necessities like clothes, shoes, and other unwanted household items. Through this webpage, Amazon will send you a prepaid shipping label to send your charitable give-back-box to a charity of your choosing.

2.)   The Magic Yarn Project:

This remarkable organization creates homespun wings for little cancer patients. You can help brighten the life of a child in need by donating simple crafting materials to be used for wigs, beanies, and more.

3.) Cookie Delivery:

Warm the hearts and bellies of the heroes in your community by delivering cookies to a local fire station! These folks are often volunteers, so they’re definitely deserving of some extra sweets this season.

4.)   Free Rice:

An educational game for kids that helps them brush up on their vocabulary skills. For every correct question, free rice has pledged to donate ten pieces of rice to a child in need; and those little grains add up fast!

5.) Perform a Random Act of Kindness

The easiest way to give back is by simply being kind and positive to those around you. While being nice doesn’t require a substantial amount of effort, your sweet gesture or kind words might just make someone’s whole day.
