Gifts for the Design Savvy: Creative Photo Notepads

December 7, 2011

Photo of Gifts for the Design Savvy: Creative Photo Notepads

By Stefan – Creative Director, Pinhole Press. Our friends Marc and Ken have a charming house in the Berkshires where we’re lucky enough to spend a week each summer.  They’re both designers, so every detail is considered.  They have lots of vintage wallpaper in their house including a great retro mushroom pattern in their kitchen that Ken found on Ebay and had removed and re-installed during a renovation.  So you get the idea that they love their wallpaper!  Since we’re always looking for clever thank-you gifts for them, we made these custom notepads by photographing the walls in the kitchen, guest room and bathroom while no one was looking… they loved them so much they ordered stacks of each and now have them in every room in the house.

Shooting signature patterns or objects is a great way to put together a special gift to complement a friend’s unique interior design style.  Give it a try!

This is a terrific idea. I have some lovely wallpaper that is no longer made. I actually have pieces of it left. I’m wondering if I should just scan a piece of it then upload the jpeg. Ooh, good idea! I’m on it. Thanks for this.
